To accommodate an expanding workforce, Fastenal constructed a new 100,000-square-foot, four-story office building along the riverfront near the heart of downtown Winona, MN.
Though contemporary in design, the building reflects the historic charm of downtown Winona through the use of local stone and masonry. Sustainable strategies include natural daylighting, a highly efficient thermal envelope, raised-access HVAC flooring systems, and the use of cross-laminated timber (CLT).
As the mass timber material supplier for the project, MMT provided 3-ply SPF CLT for the office floors and exposed roof, totaling nearly 94,500-square-feet.
