About

Walmart’s 350-acre Home Office campus sets a new benchmark for sustainable and innovative corporate spaces. Designed to enhance collaboration, promote well-being, and prioritize environmental responsibility, this campus is a hub for over 14,000 associates. It exemplifies modern corporate design with sustainable construction methods, energy-efficient systems, and spaces that merge seamlessly with nature.

The campus stands as one of the largest mass timber projects in the United States, utilizing sustainably sourced, regional materials to reduce its carbon footprint while delivering efficient and functional office spaces. MMT supplied materials for:

  • Zone 1: Ol’ Roy, Hula, Purpose, and Moon Pie office buildings
  • Zone 3: Upstream office building

Zone 1 comprises four 4-story mass timber buildings totaling approximately 882,715-square-feet of office space and parking decks, while Zone 3 features a single 5-story building with a total area of 332,615-square-feet. Zone 3 offices are constructed with full mass timber frames, further emphasizing Walmart’s commitment to innovative sustainable building practices.

MMT also provided installation services for Upstream. Along with providing the timber supply, MMT also provided design-assist services, including production feasibility, logistics and scheduling, and on-site mass timber installation. The entire project is pursuing LEED Platinum certification to reflect its environmentally responsible design.

State-of-the-art office spaces form the heart of the campus, offering an environment thoughtfully crafted to enhance the employee experience. Biophilia takes center stage in the design, with an intentional integration of natural elements into the workplace. Exposed mass timber structural components, indoor greenery, and expansive views of landscaped outdoor spaces establish a strong connection to nature. Abundant natural light further enhances the atmosphere, creating inviting spaces that promote focus, comfort, and well-being. By seamlessly blending modern design with nature-inspired features, these offices prioritize associate health and productivity while reinforcing Walmart’s dedication to sustainability and innovation.

Walmart’s Home Office campus embodies an innovative approach to sustainable development. By combining mass timber construction with wellness-focused design, Walmart provides a workplace that fosters collaboration, supports community, and aligns with its sustainability goals.
